Pittsburgh Public Market
The Pittsburgh Public Market, which is open Wednesday through Sunday, is located just a little northwest of downtown’s Cultural District. The market houses seasonal vendors, permanent merchants and local artists alike showcasing their creations. You’ll find homemade pasta, organic juices and some delicious baked goods every day, as well as some local restaurants that serve fresh, made-from-scratch meals. On the weekends, Clarion Fars Beef and Great Harvest Bread Company are just two of the extra out of town merchants that make their way to one of the many markets in the Strip District. Be sure to check out the website for any special events happening in the Public Market during your visit.

Not far from the Veteran’s Bridge is Pittsburgh’s Strip District, a historic center of retail businesses, cultural organizations and local artisans. Every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm through November 21, 2015, the Farmers@Firehouse farm market features local organic food and fresh produce. There’s a wide range of fruits and vegetables, depending on what’s in season, but you’ll also find goat milk, yogurt, and cheese from Cherish Creamery, artisan breads from Mediterra Bakehouse, and small-batch ice creams and sorbets from Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream.
