Benedum Center

The Benedum Center was registered with the National Register of Historic Places following the $43 million restoration that restored the center to its original 1928 look. Today, the Benedum Center hosts award-winning shows, such as the Shen Yun Performing Arts, Swan Lake, Wicked and the Nutcracker.

Byham Theater

The Byham Theater opened in 1904, and by the 1930s, it grew to be one of the city’s most popular movie theaters. Today, it has become a state-of-the-art fine arts theater hosting shows such as A Musical Christmas Carol, Shrek the Musical, All You Need is Love and the Soweto Gospel Choir.

Heinz Hall

The Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts is the cornerstone of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District. This concert hall and theater is home to the famous Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Guests can also see popular shows such as Peter and the Wolf and The Music of John Williams. Musicals and major performers also stop at Heinz Hall on tours through Pittsburgh.

O’Reilly Theater

The O’Reilly Theater is the only newly constructed theater in Pittsburgh designed with a dual purpose: public theater and a venue for music and performances. The theater boasts 650 seats and the most advanced technology available in theater today. Guests can enjoy popular public theater shows such as An Iliad, Candida and Noises Off.

Following a night watching a show or orchestra performance, Pittsburgh visitors can enjoy some of the unique restaurants and bars in the Cultural District. The district offers more than 50 restaurants, all within walking distance of the area’s theaters and to the DoubleTree Pittsburgh Downtown. Pittsburgh’s cultural district includes unique dining and drink options, including the Cabaret at Theater Square, Bravo Franco Restaurant, F. Tambellini and the Lemon Grass Cafe.
